Retained search -

Back

In this case our firm is paid a "retainer fee" to conduct an executive search exclusively. This type of search usually represents your organization on a national basis. A retained search requires time to thoroughly understand our client's culture, needs and direction, and the position's responsibilities and requirements before the search begins. In a retained search we focus our recruiting and evaluation efforts on a broad range of potential candidates, most of whom are not in the active job market. Our search consultants interview and qualify potential candidates over the phone and in person. The consultants who are assigned to this search only work on a limited number of assignments at a time.
It is not uncommon to speak to well over 100 executives before recommending a few to the client. Candidates are provided with a clear understanding of the client's history and culture, as well as specific position requirements and responsibilities before a client interviews them. Most retained searches are focused on high-level executive positions typically paying a salary of $80,000 and above. Usually, retained search is used for specialized roles in which there is a narrow pool of candidates. These might include difficult, customized, or new positions that are critical to the success of the organization. We are very skilled at helping you explore alternatives regarding organizational structure and responsibilities for a particular role. We can provide you with options by sharing successes from our past experiences with other organizations.
