Born and raised in Iowa, values were instilled early on...my father taught me the importance of commitment and honor and my mother complimented that foundation with lessons in gratitude and humility. As long as I can remember I have been driven to go beyond the status quo...whether it was selling enough boxes of candy in grade school and earning a free week of camp or completing my first marathon as a senior in high school. I was always striving to go beyond what was expected and differentiate myself.
For over twenty years, I have been involved in employment related career endeavors. After graduating from Iowa State University, I spent 7 years in the public sector working for the Iowa Department of Employment Services with roles varying from placing temporary and seasonal workers to evaluating workforce dynamics and labor force statistics. In the mid 90's I migrated to "Corporate America" and worked in various Human Resources capacities encompassing staffing, employee relations and other generalist areas. As a certified trainer for behavioral based interviewing, I took special interest in the assessement and selection process of employees. In the late 90's I joined an early stage telecommunications company in high growth mode and oversaw sales recruitment for expanison markets. That experience solifided my passion for recruiting and building successful organizations; it also ignited my enterpreneurial spirit and I started Boss & Associates in January 2000 based on a simple philosophy of doing the right things for the right reasons with the right people. Almost a decade later, I am proud of the impact we have made and the lives we have touched in a positive way. It is all about digging in and going the distance...whether that be selling 276 boxes of candy, running 26.2 miles or finding that rock star candidate that truly matches a client-company's organizational void.
